SEATTLE 90’s ROCK EXPLOSION – “Drop in the Park”
This is an original 16mm film scan from my archives. It was a free, voter-registration event held by Pearl Jam on September 20, 1992, at Magnuson Park in Seattle, Washington. City officials canceled the band’s original free concert at Gas Works Park in May 1992, citing crowd size and security concerns. It was a defining moment for Seattle’s grunge era and successfully encouraged 3,000 fans to register to vote on-site.
